In the last couple weeks so much has happened. All pretty much great. Of course, naturally, there were some downsides but nothing that I can't write off as "C'est la vie" (That's life).
First, I began a collaboration with an actor on a new concept drama series pilot, (I can't, for obvious reasons, disclose what it is about). It was definitely a learning experience. With a few things that life threw at me since then, I had to graciously bow out of that collaboration, in the capable hands of another writer who is a part of the team. But not before completing about half the first draft. I learned so much! The following week I flew to San Diego for the Comic Con. Though I didn't have badges, as you've read in my previous post, there was still a lot to do outside of it. TONS! First day in, met a new friend, and I got sunburnt waiting to board the IMDboat where I got to see a preview (I don't play) of Call of Duty WWII, learned more about Amazon Rapids (Which is amazing, I'm signing up today for my kiddos) and got free flavored shaved ice, on top of a free shirt, stickers, no a few other things. Afterwards, I met another great new friend, Chris, in the hostel I stayed in. Him and I caught dinner together, and joined, right as we ordered food, by Richard Dinnick, a screenwriter for Thunderbirds, Tree Fu Tom, Stargate Universe and I believe Doctor Who graphic novels. My daughter loves Tree Fu Tom, I loved Stargate U when it aired 10 years ago and am now watching Thunderbirds. Moms of boys or adventurous girls, must watch! It was so great to chat with him. He gave me a lot of advice and insight. Richard, if you ever see this, thanks again for replying to my awkward message and racing over in the hot afternoon to meet with me. :-) Later that night, Chris and I met some new friends in line for SyFy Nerd Party hosted by Zachary Levi. The party was off the hook. Lol Seriously, if you ever get a chance to go to one, do it. Cotton candy on glow lights, free beer plus a small bar for other paid drinks, great music, lights, the whole thing was awesome. Following that, we crossed the street to meet Will O'Mullane with Titan-Comics.com . Another cool dude from across the pond (AKA England). As soon as we returned to the hostel, I passed ou hard. Another day of sun and fun, Chris scored us a free lunch using Mr. Robot's E-Coin. I got free stuff from The Tick at the Amazon Prime exhibit. That starts soon on Amazon Video too, in case there are any other fans out there. That evening I met Chris's friends, Kevin seems to be the only name that I can remember for some reason. I'm sorry guys, I suck. Lol But there were a great bunch of guys who welcomed myself, the old person out. Lol After dinner at Seaport Village, Chris and I met up at the Hilton and, after a lot of encouragement, and a lot of failure on my end, we kinda fell into a good conversation with a couple of guys, Tim and Dan, from Outdoor Channel, who were there for a panel on their own show, Hollywood Weapons. Dan is a screenwriter for that show. MORE GREAT ADVICE!!! We met a couple of other people before the night ended and we headed back to the hostel. I swear my FitBit was working overtime those few days. Chris got into Hall H, YAY, but it also meant we had to say adios via message. But HALL H, guys. That was awesome! It's hard to get into Hall H. A LOOOOOTTT of waiting. Days for some. Anyways, I got "tested" for the X-Gene (The Gifted, Fox, exhibit) but they also did a real DNA genetics test that I should be able to check results for about now, think. Yay! Back home, I am working on a feature screenplay, in the last 1/3 of it now. My son had a minor preventative surgery. Daughter is back in dance class, school is starting soon and the hubby should be arriving back from a long deployment in the very near future as well. Life has got me busy, but I live for it. Thanks for reading! My next adventure is, I hope, the Tacoma Film Festival in October and then the IVF film fest in Manchester, NH in Nov. Then there's the Fan Fest in Portland again, in Jan and then, another comic con called Emerald City in March. And then my adventures will have to slow down while my husband does some training in the spring. Again "C'est le vie!" Thanks for reading everyone! More updates to come in a couple days. LOVE YOU!
