It's been over two weeks since deciding to try my hand at screenwriting. I took a two week, free course, hosted by university in the UK, bought a couple books, read dozens of articles and I still have plenty to learn. The free course, if you are every interested in screenwriting yourself, was very informative, well put together and I took a lot from it. Considering it was free, I was very impressed. You can find more details for it at: FutureLearn.com.

Below is a response to a Screenwriting course I am taking. Read on it you'd like. :)
Deidre (Dee) Hallucinates in hospital Seeks extra treatment Ignores Connor's attempts to talk Finds "Wake Up" message on napkin Another hallucination with Connor involved Denies him telling her she's not crazy Finds words Wake and Up circled in the newspaper Questions herself, considers Connor's words Doesn't take medication Talkswith Connor, clear minded Fights in next hallucination with Connor Escapes hospital Deidre is aware of both her wants at the beginning and the end of the pilot episode, when she is "asleep" and "awake." Deidre wants to be normal and accepted, to get better. The hallucinations are what kept her from having a home. She is cautious, especially when on the drugs they tell her she needs. She is a little lost with all that is going on, but starts to trust Connor after the drugs wear off. Once she discovers she really isn't crazy, she becomes much more engaged, intellectually. We later learn that she was involved in some sort of sport before the hallucinations started. An average to above average student. Another person would probably describe the character as unsure of herself at first. She's just discovered that a huge part about herself has been a lie and is now thrust into a new world. She has trust issues, even with Connor, who helps her escape the hospital. As well as issues trusting herself. She will constantly be learning about herself and what she's capable of after she wakes up from the fog of the drugs and lies. Though she is cautious, she doesn't allow it to hinder the loyalty she will develop for those who do help her along the way. She will be eager to learn, and discover what she can and can't do, find her strengths. First, lets talk book 2 in the Descending series, Ascending Into Light. It is nearly finished writing, then will need some extensive editing. That part could take anywhere from one to two months. I was hoping for something sooner, but life happened. Sorry everyone. BUT you should have it during the summer, as originally promised.
Other news.... Resently, I have decided to try my hand at screenwriting. I've been writing stories since I was eleven, and when I was fifteen someone suggested I write screenplays. At the time, I was a very shy person, I wouldn't even tell some of my friends it was me who wrote some of the things I shared with them. It sounded fascinating though. And, when I started following a writing for my fav show, Arrow, I got to thinking how fun it would be to write screenplays. Currently, I have no experience in that area, but I want to see what I can do. I will probably be sharing some things here and there about a couple of stories I'm working on, in case you wanted to follow along with that. With that said, I ask for your patience. As that release times on the third and fourth ( yes, there is a fourth), may be a little more spaced out than originally planned. I hope to still have the third in the series out to you by the end of the year though. :) Thank you all for your support and for reading, sharing Descending. I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart. |
