Oscars and Netflix shows

First things first: Oscars. I don’t watch them. For one, I don’t stay up that late. Another reason is that my kids rule the television until 7PM so I miss watching live. I DVR it just in case I hear there’s something I shouldn’t miss, but I mostly rely on Twitter/Facebook and YouTube to update me on the big events. That said, I found a ton of animosity and disappointment over The Green Book winning Best Picture. I understand a lot of people, including myself, were hoping Black Panther or Spider-Man Into the Spider-verse would win. I haven’t yet seen The Green Room, though the trailers look good. My question is, for those who have seen it as well as the other two movies, what made it the least worthy? Like I said, I honestly thought Black Panther or Spider-Man should have won. A few people mentioned that it was similar to the other past winning movies, which made this win a boring one. I seriously need someone to explain it to me. Again, please remember, I am all for another movie winning, and I have no opinion on The Green Book as I haven’t seen it yet.

Moving along, I watch a ton of cartoons— again, parent — And I’ve found that Captain Underpants, Paprika, True and the Rainbow Kingdom, Cleo and Cuquin and Mowtown Magic shows all need to be renewed. If you have children, and you haven’t yet seen these, I recommend it. I enjoy Captain Underpants because it’s a little more mature than say Paprika or True and Cleo/Cuquin. Motown magic is awesome. It embraces an awesome musical culture and teaches great lessons.

Now, for the grown ups. If you haven’t seen Umbrella Acadamy, shame on you. Do it now. Binge it as fast as you can! One Day at a Time is really good too. It is funny, lighthearted, full of today’s issues and makes me cry a little at the end of each episode. Wynonna Earp is my new binge show. I believe we are on ep. 5. It’s interesting, funny in a dark sort of way and I’m enjoying the multiple mysteries in the storyline. What shows are you watching?! I’m honestly curious. I’m trying to broaden my watching education/knowledge a little in the shows I watch.

Have a FANTASTIC Monday everyone!
