Hello world wide web! It's been over a month since my surgery and I'm getting back into the swing of things. While I was healing, though, I wrote my heart out in order to get Bounty out there on time for you all. Just 2 more days until release day! So excited for you to read Darina and Marshall's story, along with, of course, Maeleigh, Gearden and Lugh.
I have already begun Awaken, the third book, and I am really happy with the way the characters are developing. You know me, if you aren't new that is. I don't like outlines. The story and characters manifest like a petri dish in the lab. I just write what comes to me, pretty much. Sometimes I outline in the middle somewhere so I don't have loose ends, but that's it. Right now, I'm just discovering for myself what type of characters the new ones will be and how the old ones have changed since the last book and over the series as a whole. A lot of things have happened over the last month. I don't have an actual timeline of them all, but I will try to get it as close as I can. Unicorns Don't Eat Carrots and Transcending From Light were both released at the start of the month and people are loving both. A few people have already begun to receive their UDEC books in the mail as well as finding them in the libraries. Others are pleased with how the Descending series has concluded. Me? I'm actually just happy that the Descending series is over. It was had to complete over the last few years. I seriously wasn't sure if Transcending was even going to happen with all the other projects I kept giving myself. But it got done and it is such a relief! Next, the director from RoadmapWriters.com read my short story, A New World, and emailed me asking for permission to send it to a few agencies for review for possible representation. Of course, I agreed and now it's a wait-and-see game if any of the 5 he emailed contact me for more information/requests. Most don't even reply at all if they aren't interested. That means my works was SOLICITED to agencies, which is a big deal for me. I was so excited for that. On that topic, I also sent out queries to a few management companies and I have already gotten a response requesting the full script be sent to them. Again, stoked! Following that, I have received a few screenplay placement announcements from film festivals. Attrition won Best Characters from the Redwood Scripts and Shorts film festival Across the Veil won Best Action Screenplay from Lonely Wolf International Film Festival, Official Selection from Niagea Falls Film Festival And I think there was another but I can't remember it right now. I have a few others I am waiting to hear back on, so stay tuned for that. AND! Last but not least, I decided to make the cover for Awaken on my own this time. I think it turned out really well. I might still tweak the title some more though before release day in a couple months. But here it is!
