If you've pre-ordered my book, Awaken, you've probably already learned that I have cancelled the pre-order of the book that was due out June 30th. For those who have been really anticipating this story, I am really sorry for the further delay. The honest to goodness truth is that I wasn't feeling the story. I go through spurts like that now and then, which is why I write scripts at the same time, to keep things fresh. However, I am completely worn out; physically and mentally. A lot of things are happening on the home front with my kiddos and it's taken a huge toll on my writing career. I could have forced myself to write the remaining hundred or so pages left to go in Awaken, to get it done in time, but it would NOT have been what the story or you deserve. I want to give it time, even though it means losing the pre-orders, to give you all the book that you readers and the story deserves. The first 120 pages are awesome, right before all three of my kids needed to see new doctors, two of them needed new glasses, lazy eyes, IEPs, 504s, Autism evals X3, more doctors and specialists, school professional meetings and conferences. And don't even get me started on insurance.
Oh, and the husband recently started a new business. All that said, I am going to leave the release date up in the air but I hope to have it done by the end of the year. I wont touch the 'Awaken' file until life calms down again. Scripts as way different, so please, don't feel like I'm switching careers or giving things up if you see me post new scripts. Fellow writers, I know you know exactly what I'm talking about. Again, I'm sorry for the disappointement this may cause some of you, but I know most of you will understand and for that I appreciate you. Thank you and I will keep you up to date whenever I do open the 'Awaken' again Tapping the Glass won Best Short Screenplay in the FilmCon Awards Film Festival! I am now officially signed onto the short film project, "Don't," as a writer's assistant. Here is the link ( Don't - IMDb ) if you want to check it out. I will be helping the lead screenwriter and learning how to make a "Shoot Script." In exchange for any work I do, I get a free education. It's being filmed in Scotland, I believe, and I really hope Covid will allow me to go there during filming just to see how things work on that end of things, too. I am so excited about this. Can't wait to get started! #Dont #script #screenwriting #writer #film #shortfilm #filmmaking #scotland #PreWGA
Just finished a short script I made notes on two years ago. I am really pleased to have this done. It's only the first draft, so of course, it's not perfect, but it turned out just the way I wanted to for the story of it so far. Here's a look at the poster. #short #writingcommunity #script #screenwriting #film #filmindustry #IVP #domesticviolence #womensright #empoweringwomen #speakup #listentoher
