A couple of exciting things to share with you all!
First: I just found that I am now at SemiFinals for Your Script Produced competition. Next is Finals by the 30th. Second: I finally made a writers resume. I have no idea if I even did it right, but it seems like there’s no real template for how to do it the way I need. My old, non writing life experiences, but focused on my writing profile. Third: I applied to three more “writing gigs” using Attrition and Summons, so we will see if those lead to anything. I used ISA Network so it’s easy to track and I pay for the membership, so it’s “free.” Fourth: This is the most exciting, I feel. I emailed both Jeniffer Armentrout and her publisher asking for rights to write a script for the first in her book series, Lux. If you’re not familiar with her work, Lux is the start of a sci-fi, teen romance series and it is SO good. A lot of action, less Twilight sparkle, more dark and dreary with a good amount of romance and science fiction. I have no idea if either will even acknowledge or respond to my inquiries but I am going to keep my fingers crossed for the next few weeks all the same. 😃

This time around with publishing The Hunt, I wanted to do a few things differently with advertising and spreading the word. Even though I shared with my friends on Facebook, a lot of people still weren’t aware that I had published a book. Thinking out of the box, I decided to try a new approach. I see all of these book advertisements for Amazon on my Facebook and Instagram feed and I always wondered how they got those awesome graphics. I did some digging and found Etsy has quite a few people/shops who do it for you at a really affordable price. The key words to search for are these: “Ebook mock up promo” or “mock up promo” and “book mock up.” There is also someone who can do a book trailer but I doh d another designer to do it for less and I felt their designs were much more appropriate for my genre and book theme. I will wait until that’s complete before I share with you other authors. What other tricks have you authors tried. Good/bad?
Eeeek! I heard from Your Script Produced finally, they are a wee bit behind on their emailing for entry statuses, and Attrition hasmoved up to Semi-Finals!!! Woot woot! 🙌🏻😁 Now on to see if it makes it to the finalists which they will announce around the 15th. I can wait 11 days! Hahaha!
Status Update:
I am currently waiting to hear back from three competitions of whether or not I advanced in their festivals. They are all past due on notifying me, so I’m super anxious. Next, I just resubmitted Summons to WeScreenplay for a new coverage analysis. Last time is got a Consider rating, and what I really want is a Recommend. I made changes that were suggested by the last reviewer, so I am really hopeful. And last, I got my personalized coffee cup in with my writers quote on it. I love it so much! A quick note you guys, if you have a Goodreads FREE Account, Follow/Friend me.
